Cellular Respiration + Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is how plants make energy from light. There are light  dependent reactions(Calvin cycle) and light independent reactions. Cellular respiration is how we derive energy from the food we eat. We get the energy from glucose. C₆H₁₂O₆[glucose]+6O₂>>6CO₂+6H₂O+energy! These are similar because these processes help organisms get energy from food or light. One difference is photosynthesis converts sunlight and other molecules to glucose [energy batteries] for use later, and cellular respiration uses oxygen and glucose to make CO₂, water, and ENERGY!

The Shadows Project

Image
We measured shadows throughout the day to see the difference of shadows every hour. The shadows got longer and shorter through the day as well as going in a circle. There wasn't enough daylight at 6:00, so we stopped there.               The shadows got longer and shorter because the earth is moving around the sun. The shadows are longer in the morning and evening but short at midday is because at morning and evening the sun is low in the sky but at midday the sun is high in the sky thus making the shadows short. In winter I expect this will be harder and the shadows will be longer because the sun will be lower in the sky.
