New Kid is set in the perspective of Jordan Banks, a 12-year-old kid who wants to go to an art school but his mother wants him to go to a fancy private middle school. He dreads the start of school and is picked up with Liam, who is a white kid who has been going to private schools his entire life. When he gets to the school he is lost. Andy, an annoying white kid, is telling him the status quo and who to be friends with and who to avoid when he sees Maury,  a black kid like him, when some upper-classmen make fun of  Maury. Jordan then met Ms. Rawle and his classmates. After that they go to lunch. All of the older kids have the better seats and they get the drafty spot near the trash cans. He then joins a soccer team. His team doesn't win but he enjoys it nonetheless.  During winter break he  celebrates Kwanzaa and  hangs out at Liam's house. ⁣ The book “New Kid”  is about Jordan Banks, a seventh grader going to a new school. It is set mostly at Riverdale Academy Day School.  The story started with Jordan's parents telling him what school he was going to, and a little later he started his first day being introduced to his classmates. He played soccer, because he needed to play a sport or do the musical, and he accidentally scored the first goal in seven years. He built some friendship with Drew and Alex over the next few weeks. Shortly after his parents went to the parent teacher conference, Jordan went out for Chinese with his grandpa. His grandfather ordered all three of Jordan's favorite foods at once, helping Jordan realize that he could be with all his friends at once. Later at the school book fair, he saw the difference between black and white representation in books with white characters more commonly being in fantasy, with gritty "realism" more commonly having black or minority characters. Bending, stretching, squeezing, forming, and similar do not change the molecular structure of the material, being physical changes Rust, burning, and some forms of cooking are chemical changes  Most physical changes can be reversed easily because they change the physical properties of the material like size, or shape. Chemical changes are hard or impossible to reverse because chemical changes change the molecular/chemical properties of the material. Bending lead bars will not change them to gold bars (to medieval alchemist's dismay). Hammering iron can make it magnetic but it does not change the chemical properties of the iron, it just makes it magnetic iron by making the iron atoms all face in the same direction. I wanted to make something and I wanted to have a new bed, so I decided to make a box to sleep in. I quite literally made my bed. I started with some schematics and measuring my body so I could get the right dimensions. My mother then went to Home Depot to get wood. I wanted to use wood because it was cheap and sturdy. I first planned to make the box to have a floor and a roof but I later decided to have the box be just walls.  This is a picture of the blueprints of my box. The screws stuck out so to avoid being stabbed, my father grinded down the screws. I learned a lot about carpentry and the process of woodworking.
